Raise Your Hand If This Sounds Like You

Feeling frustrated because your landlord won’t let you record your guitar at volume 11?

Sadly, there aren’t a lot of housing situations that appreciate the sound of fine shredding.

Worried that your spouse will leave you if you invest in home recording equipment?

I don’t personally know your wife, but… given that she’s still with you after your 12 guitar purchases, the whole studio idea might be a good place to draw a line in the sand.

Overwhelmed by all the technical aspects of recording?

Even if your lady does authorize the home studio, that presents a new challenge… you’re feeling paralyzed by everything you’d have to learn in order to make a professional-sounding recording.

Maybe you’re puzzled about how to pick a studio?

You know you’d like to record at a nearby studio, but you have no clue how to choose one that’s a good fit.

How to Record Your Project in 2 Easy Steps

Step 1: Get out of the house.

If there’s anything I’ve learned from a global pandemic it’s that we all spend way too much time at home.

Leaving the house can actually yield better results for your work. Besides, 99% of landlords and spouses alike approve of recording music somewhere other than the home.*

* This isn’t a real statistic, but it seems like common sense, right?

Step 2: Record at an audio studio.

The key to a stellar audio recording is a lot more involved than just setting up a mic and pressing the record button. You need to be in a space where you feel relaxed, confident, and focused.

Recording at a studio gives you the freedom to let the music flow, without any technical distractions to hold you back. It means you get to focus solely on being the artist and delivering your best performance.

Why Make Your Own Mistakes When You Can Just Learn From Mine?

Over 23 years ago, I was in a band that purchased its own recording gear. In a basement space adjacent to the washing machine, I started with zero knowledge and learned how to record a four-piece rock band.

I had to figure out how to run the board, how to set up equipment to get the sounds that we wanted, when to use individual tracks vs. record live as a group, how to edit things after-the-fact — and certainly, the best times of day to avoid doing laundry.

Over the years, one of the biggest challenges has been running the equipment when I need to record myself. It’s hard to sit down at the drums and focus on the emotions of music, when I’m also responsible for what the gear needs to be doing.

Wearing these two hats at once isn’t for everyone. That’s why I like to help other artists record their projects, so they don’t have to worry about anything other than their performance.

I’m Chris and I Run Buzz Studios

My passion is helping artists capture their personal vibe. I believe that music shouldn’t be about perfection. In fact, perfection holds most people back. I work with artists to capture a vibe — that intangible thing that shows your true essence and moves people.

If you’re like other artists, you’re probably wondering how to choose a studio that will be a good fit for your project…

For many, the choice comes down to relationships. People want to work with someone who has the technical skills, sure. But they also want someone who’s easy to work with, who will listen to them and offer advice when it’s wanted, and someone who makes the process enjoyable.

With Buzz Studios, you get technical expertise, along with a mentor who strives to make the experience rewarding and fun.
